Privacy policy
We collect very little. This page lists what, why and who else is involved.
In short
- You don't need an account to use eSIM Mate, and we take no payments.
- We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising.
- Site statistics use Google Analytics when it is switched on. It counts page views and clicks on provider links.
- If you send us a message, we receive the details you type in it.
When you visit the site
The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare handles each request and may log standard technical details such as your IP address, the page you asked for and your browser type, for security and to keep the site working. We don't set our own cookies and we don't store anything about you in your browser.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and comparisons are used. It is off unless the live site is configured with an analytics ID, and it is not used when we build or test the site. When it is on, it records:
- a page view when you open or move between pages, with the page path only (no query string or search text); and
- a click event when you follow a link to a provider through our
/go/page, with the provider, destination and plan it was for.
We don't send your name, email address or anything you type into the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell visits apart and receives your IP address and browser details when it loads. Google's privacy policy applies to what it does with that data. You can block the cookies in your browser settings or use a tracker-blocking tool, and the site works the same without them.
When you contact us
If the contact form is switched on, it asks for your name, email address, a topic and your message. When you send it, the form passes those details to Resend, an email delivery service, which emails them to our inbox. We use them only to read and answer your message. The form also has a hidden field and a timer to filter out spam bots.
The form checks you are not a bot with Cloudflare Turnstile, which usually runs without asking you to do anything. It loads only on the contact page, and only when the form is switched on. Cloudflare receives your IP address, browser details and a technical fingerprint of the connection, and uses them only to detect and block bots and to improve that detection, not to identify or profile you. Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum applies.
The site doesn't keep the messages in a database. They sit in our inbox like any other email, and we delete them when we no longer need them. If you email us directly instead, we receive your email address and what you write.
Provider websites
Links to eSIM providers go through our /go/ page and then to the provider's own website. Once you are there, the provider's privacy policy applies, including whatever it collects when you buy. eSIM Mate doesn't sell eSIMs and never sees your payment details. See how we make money.
Where information goes
Cloudflare, Google and Resend are international companies, so information about your visit or message may be handled outside Australia. We use them only for the purposes above.
Seeing or correcting your information
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it, and we will reply and act on it where we can.
Use the contact page. We will publish an email address there before launch.
If you aren't happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which asks that you raise it with us first.
Changes to this page
If we change what we collect, we update this page and its date. Tell us if something here doesn't match what the site does.
