About eSIM Mate
An independent comparison of travel eSIMs for Australians going overseas, with every price in Australian dollars.
What eSIM Mate is
eSIM Mate compares travel eSIM plans from 6 providers for 15 destinations. For each plan you see the price in Australian dollars, the data, how long it lasts, the network it connects to, whether you can share it as a hotspot, and the date we last checked it.
Start from a destination, look at a provider, or put two side by side on the compare pages.
Why it exists
Australians travelling overseas have to choose between providers that describe data, validity and fair-use limits in different ways. We put the same facts for every plan in one place, in A$, with cost per GB or per day worked out the same way for everyone, so you can compare plans without converting currencies or doing the sums yourself.
How it stays independent
No link earns us a commission yet; when one does, it won't cost you anything. Providers can't pay to move up, and each “Best for” pick prints the rule that chose it.
- How we make money says how we are paid and shows each provider's affiliate status.
- Our methodology sets out how prices are recorded, how picks are chosen and how often we recheck.
Where the data comes from
Prices, data, networks and plan rules come from the providers' own pages. Each plan carries the date we checked it, and we recheck at least every 30 days. Network information for a destination comes from published carrier and coverage information.
What we don't do
- We don't sell eSIMs. The provider sells the plan and handles setup, support and refunds.
- We haven't tested these eSIMs on a trip yet. Provider pages say so, and we don't publish ratings, scores or speed figures until a real test has happened.
- We don't set prices. They change, so check the provider's page before you buy.
